Jackie & Jon – Connecticut Engagement Portraits

So these two – where do I start? We are all from the same small town of Bethel, Connecticut. Everyone in this town knows each other (at least it feels that way) and supports each other, which always amazes me. I loved growing up there! I graduated with Jackie’s older brother and always remember her as his beautiful, sweet, younger sister with a great head of blonde hair! When I ran into her and Jon while shooting Matt and Maura’s wedding at The Waterview, I recognized her right away. She was just as gorgeous and sweet as ever! I was so excited when they called me about their own wedding this coming June. At first, I don’t think Jon was very keen on the idea of an engagement session (as are most men!) but when I explained to him that it’s not just about making pretty pictures, it’s all about getting to know each other and getting comfortable being in front of my lens so that when the wedding day rolls around they can be in the moment and relaxed, and trust that I am going to create beautiful memories for them. Once they decided to go for it, they had the fabulous idea of doing their engagement session at their new home in Newtown, and I was all for it! I LOVE when couples choose a location that is special to them – it’s all about the emotional connections for me, and we can find (or create) beautiful light and images anywhere. When the location MEANS something to you, you will cherish the photographs that much more… garunteed! I was giddy with excitement when the day for their session came about because it was beautiful, warm, and sunny! Perfection! We walked around their beautiful property and then ventured into a nearby field as well. Along the way, I got to know them better as a couple, and as adults who are head over heels in love with eachother. Their love is quiet and caring, but it shows boldly in everything that they do. They way they hold eachother, the way they talk and laugh. It makes my heart happy to see people in this kind of love. Jackie and Jon, I cannot wait for your wedding day! Thank you for being so much fun and such great sports, as I made you climb rocks and walk through bug infested grass to make some beautiful memories. I hope you love your images as much as I do, and I know they will make the walls of your new home echo the love that you have for one another. Oh! And a big Thank You to fellow photographer, Jillian, for helping me out and being a superb reflector/light stand! 🙂 Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
